The Toshiba T1000 was a compact battery-powered PC-compatible laptop with a monochrome LCD and MS-DOS stored in ROM. It used a single 720 KB floppy drive instead of an internal hard disk.
Its modest price, light weight and instant access to ROM-based DOS made portable PC computing more accessible in the late 1980s.
