Philips VG 8235

The Philips VG 8235 combined MSX2 graphics, 128 KB RAM and a built-in 3.5-inch floppy drive in a compact keyboard-console case.

It made the enhanced MSX2 environment and disk-based software accessible to European home users without a separate desktop system.

Notable Features

• Built-in 720 KB floppy drive
• MSX2 V9938 graphics
• Compact integrated design

Historical Significance

• It made the enhanced MSX2 environment and disk-based software accessible to European home users without a separate desktop system.

Collector’s Notes

• The floppy-drive belt and fragile plastics are common service concerns; revisions differ in RAM and drive details.
• Memory, storage, displays and expansion hardware should be documented because configurations often changed during a system’s working life.
