The Amstrad PC9486i was the 486-based member of Amstrad’s PC9000 desktop family. The range began with 486SX-25 and 486DX2-50 or 66 configurations, then evolved to PCI-equipped 486DX2-66 and faster variants as the market changed.
With 4MB of RAM, local-bus Super VGA, larger IDE hard disks and DOS 6 with Windows 3.1, the PC9486 generation was designed to be easier to expand and upgrade than many earlier Amstrad PCs.
