The Amstrad PC3386SX was the performance model in the PC3000 family, using a 20 MHz Intel 80386SX processor with built-in VGA graphics. It offered the protected-mode capabilities needed by advanced DOS software and early versions of Microsoft Windows while retaining a comparatively affordable 16-bit system bus.
Sharing its case and much of its architecture with the PC3286, the PC3386SX was commonly supplied with a high-resolution colour monitor and hard disk for business and professional use.
