Panasonic is the best-known international consumer brand of Japan’s Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., founded by Konosuke Matsushita in 1918. Alongside its broad electronics business, the company produced several distinctive personal and portable computers during the 1980s and early 1990s.
Early systems included the JR-200 home computer, the handheld HHC and the Senior Partner portable PC. Panasonic later became one of the most important MSX manufacturers, developing the affordable FS-A1 family through MSX2, MSX2+ and the final R800-powered FS-A1ST and FS-A1GT turbo R computers.
