The Torch C-500 was a communicating business computer built around BBC Micro technology and a dedicated Z80 second processor. It combined familiar 6502 display and input hardware with the CP/M-compatible CPN environment, disk storage, networking and an integral modem.
Torch’s Communicator concept turned Acorn’s educational architecture into a connected office workstation. Users could exchange electronic mail over telephone lines or Torchnet while running established Z80 business software.
