The Tandy 1000 SX brought the EX’s faster 8088 to a conventional expandable desktop case with standard 8-bit ISA slots. More memory and room for internal drives made it suitable for growing home and small-business systems.
It was the practical mainstream successor to the original 1000 and remained strongly compatible with software using Tandy graphics and sound.
