The Sharp X68000 PRO repackaged the X68000 architecture in a conventional horizontal desktop enclosure in 1989. It retained the 10 MHz 68000-class processor and multimedia chipset but expanded the system to four internal expansion slots.
The standard model used dual floppy drives, while the PRO-HD included a 40MB hard disk. Its greater expandability made it particularly suitable for professional graphics, music and development work.
