Commodore PET 2001-N

The PET 2001-N replaced the original chiclet keyboard and internal cassette with a full-size keyboard and more memory. Revised dynamic-RAM boards and BASIC 2 improved expansion and disk support.

It was the mature second generation of the PET and the basis for the European CBM 3000 family.

Notable Features
  • N models use the full-size graphics keyboard and an external cassette drive.
  • Memory configurations reached 32KB.
Historical Significance
  • It was the mature second generation of the PET and the basis for the European CBM 3000 family.
Collector’s Notes
  • PET revisions often share names while differing in motherboard, ROM, keyboard and display hardware; the serial number and internal board revision should be recorded.
  • Memory, storage, displays and expansion hardware should be documented because configurations often changed during a system’s working life.
