Commodore Amiga 600

The Amiga 600 placed ECS Amiga hardware in the smallest production Amiga case. It added internal IDE and a PCMCIA slot but removed the numeric keypad and traditional side expansion connector.

Originally conceived as a lower-cost A500 replacement, it became a distinctive compact platform for modern storage upgrades.

Notable Features
  • PCMCIA and internal IDE are unique strengths among low-end classic Amigas.
  • The compact keyboard omits the numeric keypad.
Historical Significance
  • Originally conceived as a lower-cost A500 replacement, it became a distinctive compact platform for modern storage upgrades.
Collector’s Notes
  • Chipset and motherboard revision, Kickstart ROM, RAM expansion, accelerator cards and original keyboard or mouse should be documented.
  • Memory, storage, displays and expansion hardware should be documented because configurations often changed during a system’s working life.
