Commodore Amiga 3000 Plus

The Amiga 3000 Plus was a prototype high-end successor using an early form of the Advanced Amiga Architecture chipset with a 68040 processor. It promised improved graphics before the project was cancelled.

Elements of the chipset direction informed later AGA production machines, although the complete A3000 Plus design remained unreleased.

Notable Features
  • Prototype chipset and motherboard revisions vary.
  • It is distinct from an ordinary A3000 upgraded with a 68040 card.
Historical Significance
  • Elements of the chipset direction informed later AGA production machines, although the complete A3000 Plus design remained unreleased.
Collector’s Notes
  • Chipset and motherboard revision, Kickstart ROM, RAM expansion, accelerator cards and original keyboard or mouse should be documented.
  • Memory, storage, displays and expansion hardware should be documented because configurations often changed during a system’s working life.
