Commodore Amiga 2500

The Amiga 2500 was a factory-accelerated A2000 configuration supplied with a 68020 or 68030 processor card and hard disk. It offered workstation performance while preserving A2000 expansion.

It formalised the common practice of turning an A2000 into a higher-performance graphics and publishing workstation.

Notable Features
  • The exact accelerator and hard-disk controller varied during production.
  • The motherboard 68000 remains present beneath the processor-card configuration.
Historical Significance
  • It formalised the common practice of turning an A2000 into a higher-performance graphics and publishing workstation.
Collector’s Notes
  • Chipset and motherboard revision, Kickstart ROM, RAM expansion, accelerator cards and original keyboard or mouse should be documented.
  • Memory, storage, displays and expansion hardware should be documented because configurations often changed during a system’s working life.
