Apple Power Macintosh 8100 was introduced in 14 March 1994. It placed the fastest first-generation PowerPC 601 in the Quadra 800 tower enclosure. It combined PowerPC 601 at 80 MHz with 8MB; expandable to 264MB.
The 8100 served publishing, graphics and technical users who needed PowerPC speed while preserving NuBus expansion.
