Apple Macintosh Quadra 610

Apple Macintosh Quadra 610 was introduced in 10 February 1993 as a low-profile 68040 desktop below the Quadra 650. It used a Motorola 68LC040 or 68040 at 20–25 MHz with 4MB standard; expandable to 68MB. Low-profile case could accept an internal CD-ROM.

Its pizza-box enclosure and flexible processor options provided an accessible route into the Quadra workstation family.

Notable Features
  • Low-profile case could accept an internal CD-ROM.
  • Processor configurations varied between 68LC040 and full 68040.
  • Expansion adapter supported either PDS or a NuBus card.
Historical Significance
  • Its pizza-box enclosure and flexible processor options provided an accessible route into the Quadra workstation family.
  • Its place in the range reflects Apple's progression from the original compact Macintosh toward broader professional, educational and portable markets.
Collector’s Notes
  • Processor type and optional expansion adapter should be verified rather than inferred from the badge
