Apple iMac G3 Summer 2000

The Apple iMac G3 Summer 2000 family broadened the slot-loading range with processors from 350 to 500 MHz and ATI Rage 128 Pro graphics. Entry, DV, DV+ and DV Special Edition configurations covered different storage and optical-drive combinations.

Indigo and Ruby joined selected Sage, Snow and Graphite configurations. These finishes and speed grades share the same generation and are treated as variants instead of separate products.

Notable Features
  • A broad 350–500 MHz range served entry-level through DV Special Edition buyers.
  • ATI Rage 128 Pro graphics replaced the earlier Rage 128 VR controller.
  • Indigo, Ruby, Sage, Snow and Graphite appeared across different configurations.
Historical Significance
  • The family shows Apple refining one enclosure for clear consumer price tiers.
  • FireWire and iMovie made the better-equipped versions practical home video systems.
Collector’s Notes
  • Verify the model label because colour alone does not establish processor speed or optical-drive specification.
  • Original matching peripherals and transparent plastics in good condition add appeal.
