The Acorn Risc PC 600 introduced a modular slice case, replaceable processor card, VIDC20 video and a second processor slot. Its 30 MHz ARM610 and SIMM memory represented the first major Acorn desktop redesign since the original Archimedes.
The Risc PC architecture allowed ARM, x86 and later StrongARM processors to share one system, and became Acorn’s principal professional platform.
