The Acorn BBC Master 512 installed an 8 MHz Intel 80186 co-processor with 512KB private memory inside a Master 128. Digital Research DOS Plus and GEM allowed it to run compatible business software while using the BBC hardware for display and storage.
The model was Acorn’s most substantial attempt to bridge the BBC range with the IBM-compatible software world.
