The Acorn Archimedes A305 was the entry member of the first commercial ARM-based desktop range. It combined the 8 MHz ARM2, MEMC memory controller, VIDC video and IOC input/output chips in a modular desktop case.
The A305 helped introduce the ARM architecture as a complete personal-computer platform and began the Archimedes family that later adopted RISC OS.
