Acorn A3010

The Acorn A3010 was the home-oriented successor to the A3000, using the integrated 12 MHz ARM250 chipset. It retained a keyboard computer enclosure and added two joystick ports for games.

The A3010 was Acorn’s most explicitly home-focused RISC OS computer and competed in the early-1990s multimedia and education market.

Notable Features
  • Acorn ARM250 at 12 MHz provides the system’s processing architecture.
  • The standard memory configuration was 1MB or 2MB; expandable to 4MB with third-party upgrades.
  • Storage was supplied as 1.6MB floppy drive; external hard-disc options.
Historical Significance
  • The A3010 was Acorn’s most explicitly home-focused RISC OS computer and competed in the early-1990s multimedia and education market.
  • This record separates a genuine processor, memory, enclosure or storage model from software bundles and dealer-only configurations.
Collector’s Notes
  • Confirm the exact model from its front badge and rear serial label because many Acorn systems were upgraded during their working lives.
  • Original monitors, three-button mice, keyboards, expansion podules, manuals and installation media add historical value.
