Jim Westwood was one of Sir Clive Sinclair's longest-serving engineers, joining Sinclair Radionics in the 1960s and contributing to calculators, audio products, televisions and computers. He became a trusted technical figure whose practical engineering helped turn ambitious low-cost ideas into working products.
Westwood worked on Sinclair's early personal computers and was closely associated with the ZX80 project. After Amstrad acquired Sinclair's computer business, he joined the effort at Cambridge Computer that transformed the abandoned Pandora portable concept into the Z88.
As a member of the Z88 design team, Westwood helped create a thin, battery-powered computer built around solid-state memory and a custom operating environment, continuing his long collaboration with Sinclair.
