Released in 1983, the Color Computer 2 was a sleeker, more cost-efficient revision of the original CoCo 1. Built around the same powerful Motorola 6809E CPU, the CoCo 2 offered expanded RAM options, an improved keyboard, and a compact, durable white case. It retained full compatibility with CoCo 1 software and peripherals while providing a cleaner user experience and better build quality. The system remained a favorite for BASIC programming, educational software, and home gaming until it was eventually succeeded by the CoCo 3 in 1986.
